LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk is responsible for managing incoming payments, accurately recording revenue, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. This role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s cash flow and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Invoice Management:

• Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.

• Verify invoice accuracy by reconciling with purchase orders, contracts, and delivery records.

1. Payment Processing:

• Record payments received through various methods (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards).

• Apply payments to customer accounts and ensure accurate ledger updates.

1. Collections and Account Follow-Up:

• Monitor accounts for overdue payments and initiate contact with customers to resolve past-due accounts.

• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address billing discrepancies and disputes.

1. Reconciliation:

• Reconcile customer accounts to ensure balances are accurate and up to date.

• Prepare monthly AR aging reports and identify accounts requiring follow-up.

1. Customer Relations:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer billing inquiries.

• Maintain professional relationships while resolving payment and account issues.

1. Compliance and Reporting:

• Adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations regarding revenue recognition and collection practices.

• Assist in preparing reports for audits and month-end close activities.

1. Process Improvement:

• Identify and recommend improvements to streamline the AR process.

• Support the implementation of new tools and technologies for accounts receivable management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR best practices.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Other Requirements:

• Experience with ERP systems or AR automation tools is a plus.

• Knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

 

Compensation: $26-$30/hour DOE
